Tour Days
Day 1: Melbourne to Port Campbell
Depart Melbourne Monday morning and head along the Great Ocean Road, taking in the dramatic clifftop scenery, the iconic 12 Apostles and the haunting Shipwreck Coast before settling in to Port Campbell for the night.
Day 2: Port Campbell to Port Fairy
Return to the 12 Apostles at sunrise before spending the morning at Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge and the Bay of Islands. After lunch in the township of Koroit, explore Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve for an interactive tour covering Aboriginal history, native flora and fauna.
Day 3: Port Fairy to Naracoorte
Cross into South Australia via Portland and the Cape Nelson Lighthouse, stopping for lunch in the riverside village of Nelson. Visit the Blue Lake and the magical Umpherston Sinkhole in Mount Gambier before exploring the historically rich town of Penola, home of Australia’s only saint, Mary MacKillop.
Day 4: Naracoorte to Adelaide
Drive through the Coonawarra vineyards before a guided tour of the World Heritage listed Naracoorte Caves. Wind through rural South Australia, stop for a winery lunch at Bremerton in Langhorne Creek, explore the heritage towns of Strathalbyn and Hahndorf, and arrive into Adelaide via the sweeping views of Mt Lofty Summit around 6pm Thursday evening.
Depart Southern Cross Coach Terminal at 8:30am, travelling over the West Gate Bridge en route to the Great Ocean Road.
Begin the Surf Coast leg with stunning lookouts, the famous Bells Beach and the chance to spot Eastern Grey Kangaroos in the wild.
Hear the story of the Great Ocean Road at the Memorial Arch before exploring Lorne, the largest of the seaside townships.
Lunch overlooking the ocean at Wye River, then continue to Kennett River to spot koalas and colourful native birdlife.
Take a guided walk through a cool temperate rainforest gully, home to prehistoric ferns and the world's tallest flowering plants.
Arrive at the iconic 12 Apostles in afternoon light and explore Loch Ard Gorge, site of Australia's most famous 19th century shipwreck.
Settle into the charming fishing village of Port Campbell, with cafés and restaurants nearby for dinner (at own expense).
Revisit the 12 Apostles in morning light, then continue to London Bridge and the Bay of Islands along the Shipwreck Coast.
Explore the regional hub of Warrnambool, lunch in Koroit, and tour Tower Hill Wildlife Park to learn about local Aboriginal heritage and wildlife.
Stroll the picturesque fishing village of Port Fairy with time to wander before dinner at one of the local restaurants or pubs.
Take in panoramic coastal views from Cape Nelson Lighthouse before a scenic drive to lunch in the riverside village of Nelson.
Visit the famous Blue Lake and the magical Umpherston Sinkhole, a collapsed limestone cave transformed into a sunken garden.
Wander heritage-listed Petticoat Lane in Penola, home to Australia's only saint, before settling in for the night in Naracoorte.
Tour the world-heritage Naracoorte Caves and drive through the Coonawarra wine region, famed for its Cabernet Sauvignon.
Stop in Coonalpyn to admire its monumental grain silo art before a leisurely ferry crossing of the mighty Murray River at Wellington.
Lunch at Bremerton Winery, then journey through Strathalbyn, Hahndorf and Mt Lofty Summit before arriving in Adelaide around 6:00pm.
